FAQs

WILL I BE TAXED ON THE GRANT RECEIVED?

No, Team Fund grants are not considered part of the recipient’s taxable income.

DO I NEED TO REPAY THE GRANT LATER?

No, Team Fund grants are not considered loans. Recipients do not need to repay the grant. Our hope is that the grant will help alleviate some of the unforeseen financial burden teammates are experiencing.

APPLYING FOR HELP

The Team Fund helps company team members who are facing a financial hardship due to an event beyond their control. The situation must meet the guidelines and meet the definition of “emergency” or “hardship” resulting from an extended illness/injury, death, disaster or other special situation. For the purposes of the Team Fund, an emergency is defined as “an unexpected event or catastrophe that is non-recurring or an unavoidable situation of a serious and urgent nature.”

Because a Team Fund grant addresses an abnormal and unforeseen event causing a hardship, it is unlikely that more than one grant for the same situation will be issued. However, a team membercould potentially receive multiple grants for different situations. For instance, a team member may receive a grant in January due to the loss of his/her home in a fire. This same teammate might receive another grant in June of the same year because his/her spouse became ill and the teammate had to take time from work to care for the spouse. If the spouse's illness leads to his/her death in November of that same year, yet another grant could be appropriate.
